Washington (FMLA)

1/1

Washington's Family Medical Leave law is almost identical to the federal Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA). It lets workers take time off for domestic partners and extra time off for pregnant women.

Pregnant women (often, even when they are not covered by FMLA) have a right to time off while disabled.

Workers who have paid time off can use it can use it to take care of family members.

All new parents (fathers, mothers, and adoptive) have the same right to time off.

Military families have rights to time off when the military member has a deployment.
