Sonograms (and Ultrasound)

1/1

Ultrasound is the use of high-energy sound waves which are bounced off internal tissues or organs. Ultrasound waves create echoes which form a picture of body tissues. The resulting picture is called a sonogram.

Ultrasound tests and the resulting sonograms are not invasive.

No radiation is used in a sonogram.

Sometimes the words "ultrasound" and "sonogram" are used interchangeably.
