The standard treatments for Stages 0 and I colon and rectal cancer are the medical procedures known as a colonoscopy and a sigmoidoscopy. Both procedures are primarily used for diagnostic/preventive purposes. Cancerous areas are removed during the procedure. No adiditional treatments such as chemotherapy or radiation are required.
