Questions To Ask A Primary Care Doctor

1/1

We have prepared a list of questions to help determine if a particular doctor meets your medical and other needs.

In case you run out of time with the doctor before you get to ask all you questions, it is preferable to order the questions so you can ask those most important to you first. Our list includes a prioritizer which lets you reorder the questions to your priority with the touch of a button.

There is no reason to be nervous about approaching the interview with a list of questions. If the doctor is truly willing to work with you as a "team member" she or he will appreciate your preparedness and the interest you are taking in your care. If the doctor is reluctant or bristles at being questioned in such a manner, you are probably not a good match.

After you've interviewed the doctor, look at "Considerations After A Doctor Interview" to help focus your impressions from your meeting.

NOTE: Consider interviewing several doctors before you make a final decision. It may seem like a waste if the first doctor seems to fit your needs, but you won't really know until you meet the others on your short list.
