How To Reduce Smells While Drinking
- Use cups with lids (such as travel mugs)
- Drink through a straw
How To Reduce Smells While Cooking
- Avoid cooking foods with strong odors such as onions, heavy meats, fish, cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage)
- Lift lids away from you
- Use a kitchen fan to direct odors away from you
- Cook outdoors
- Use boiling bags or a slow cooker
- Get creative. If a smell from a cooking appliance such as a toaster makes you queasy, place them in another part of the house or in the garage.
- Ask a neighbor or friend to cook for you.
- Order take out food if you can
How To Reduce Smells While Eating
- Do not eat in a room that has cooking odors or other smells
- Eat cold foods instead of hot foods. Hot foods release smells
- Keep foods covered
