The side effects from treatment are likely to linger for a while. Do not expect to be functioning fully immediately.

  • Prioritize your work.
  • If you need an accommodation to help you do your job, you may be entitled to one. Even if you aren't, you can negotiate for one. Survivorship A to Z shows you how in the document in "To Learn More."
  • Supervisors and co-workers, like friends, will expect that you will be back to normal after treatment ends. Educate them about what you are experiencing both physically and emotionally.

Consider doing something to acknowledge the extra work co-workers did to help you through treatment. Even just saying "thank you" will be appreciated.
