Eat well.

Exercise.

Get sleep. Not sleeping can be exhausting and depressing. There are sleep techniques to try such as a warm bath before going to sleep, no caffeine later than lunch time, going to bed and getting up at the same time every day. To learn more sleep tips, click here.

If sleep techniques don't work, there are over-the-counter aides or your doctor can prescribe a sleeping aide.

  • Since every drug has risks, and drugs can interact negatively, it is preferable not to take a new drug, even an over-the-counter one, without checking with your doctor or his/her office.
  • If you ask for a sleeping aide, find out whether it is likely to become addictive. Some sleeping aides which could become addictive are not likely to if only taken for a short period of time.
