A description of what results of blood tests look like, and information about how to understand the results, can be found at: http://labtestsonline.org/understanding/features/lab-report/
NOTE: Thanks to a federal ruling early in 2014, in addition to getting blood test results from your doctor, medical labs have to provide test results directly to patients who request them (or to their personal representatives.) The federal law replaces the laws in those states which previously prohibited labs from providing results directly to patients. The patient or the personal representative may have to put their request in writing and pay for the cost of copying, mailing, or electronic media on which the information is provided, such as a CD or flash drive. In most cases, copies must be given to the patient within 30 days of his or her request.
